Raising the Safety Bar
Sterility and safety have always been top priorities in our office. Covid research shed new light on aerosol and air safety for airborne transmitted viruses and bacteria, which previously was rarely addressed outside of a hospital operatory room.
Because many dental procedures produce aerosols, this research led us to implement a complete HVAC renovation in our office to provide protection for patients.
This design protects each treatment room and area of the office using design parameters similar to hospitals and operating rooms. In our office we provide 100% clean air supply to each treatment room, which is then purified and exhausted directly outside. The rooms and corridors in the complex have specified air pressure differentials that do not allow aerosol to circulate between rooms. This provides clean air in each room you enter!
We installed large air purifier units in each treatment room that filters the air to 0.1 microns. This further purifies air within the treatment room.
In addition, our staff members wear double medical grade type 3 face masks whenever we are in the treatment room. These masks perform better than N95 masks when they are exposed to moisture. If you feel more comfortable with your provider wearing an N95 mask, you may request it.
